Project info |
The Green Brook Flood Risk Management Project is subject to annual funding by the federal government, through the United States Army Corps of Engineers. USACE is responsible for 75% of the construction, engineering and planning costs. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) is the non-federal sponsor, who shares the balance of the cost with the three member counties, also at a 75/25 cost share. The project broke ground in 1999 in Bound Brook, and construction is presently ongoing in Middlesex Borough. Planning and engineering is ongoing throughout the rest of the basin, with surveying and other work occurring along the Green Brook in the Lower Basin, and study work ongoing in the Stony Brook and Upper Basin portions of the project.
